Zipping Maggie has claimed back to back Chairman's Cup titles, after winning Saturday's (September 12) Group 3 final in 42.38.
The even money favourite, had to work hard throughout the race to pick up race leader Mepunga Tiara.
The daughter of Turanza Bale x Natalie Rass got to Mepunga Tiara in the final stride to win by head in the end, pocketing a further $25,000 towards her career prizemoney.
First reserve, Ada Mary finished well in third, while Smooth Number finished in fourth.
Speaking after the race Owner, Trainer and Breeder, Martin Hallinan said he was thrilled to see Zipping Maggie claim back to back titles.
"She has been a good stayer for us," Hallinan said.
"We were a bit unlucky with some of her prep not going to plan, so in the heats she was a run short.
"To be honest from the catching pen I didn't think she had got there, and then the numbers come up and I was just so wrapped," Hallinan added.
"So much time and effort goes in to every greyhound but we have a lot of dogs and it is a full family and trainer effort, so I can't thank everyone enough," he said.
"Peter Dapiran has done a good job with her and after winning this race with her last year, consecutive titles was always on the agenda if she was fit and well," Hallinan said.
Zipping Maggie will look to return to Wentworth Park for the Group 3 Sydney Cup on October 3. Group racing at the Glebe circuit will be over the 520m journey for the next fortnight, with the heats of the Group 2 Bob Payne Spring Sprint next Saturday (September 19).
