After being pipped in the final stages of the 720m Tedesco Menswear Chairman’s Cup heat journey, last Saturday night at Wentworth Park, Irma Bale will this Saturday night look to square the ledger.
Starting from box five in the heats, Irma Bale set a quick tempo early posting a 16.01 first section, and turning for home favourite punters looked to have secured the chocolates.

This week’s final is the first Group event at Wentworth Park for Spring, with the Group 2 Multiquip Bob Payne Spring Sprint scheduled for September 22 and 29. The 520m Best 32 event will see $40,000 to the winner event is expected to again attract a high calibre of runner in the lead up to the Group 1 Adelaide Cup and Topgun.
Finalists in the Multiquip Bob Payne Spring Sprint will automatically gain Adelaide Cup heat starts and put themselves in strong contention for the invitation only Topgun.
Wentworth Park’s next staying event is the Group 3 Sydney Cup scheduled for October 6 (heats) and 13 (final).
